The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team suffered its third loss in the Oceania Sevens tournament in New Zealand yesterday.

The national team lost to Australia A 24-26 making it their second loss to the Aussies in the tournament.

Australia A came from behind to claim the win against the two-time Olympics gold medallists and it was an outstanding display of skills from Mathew Gonzales to score a double and a try each to James Turner and Josh Turner to topple the national team.

Fiji’s tries came through Kaminieli Rasaku, Iowane Raturaciri, Elia Canakaivata and Ioane Teba, but it was not enough to secure the victory.

The Fiji 7s team lost to Australia on Friday 19-29 and made a comeback in the second round defeating Tonga 24-8.

They lost their first match yesterday to the All Blacks Sevens team 19-5.

The competition will continue today where the winner will be decided from whoever wins the most matches in the tournament.
