THE Fiji football team lost its international friendly match to Singapore last night 2-0 to end the year with a winless encounter in friendly games.
Singapore scored two early goals in the first opening 15 minutes of the first spell, but Fiji couldn’t retaliate despite the many chances of scoring goals.
Fiji Coach Christophe Gamel was satisfied enough with their performance, but acknowledged the gulf in quality.
“Playing against professional players, I think we managed really well,” said Gamel.
“We knew that Singapore is very fast and the last ten minutes, we started to go down (deteriorate) physically. Singapore is a good team.”
Fiji has lost four matches this year and managed a 1-all draw against the Solomon Islands.
