The Digicel national under-16 football team will face Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Tonga in pool play of the OFC U17 Championship 2023 that will be held in Fiji next year.
The pool draws took place in New Zealand yesterday.
Hosts Fiji are top seeds in Group A. Group Ba has defending champion New Zealand, New Caledonia and American Samoa.
Tahiti, Vanuatu and Cook Islands make up Group C. Ten teams will compete for the right to be crowned OFC U17 champion, with games split between two venues in Ba and Suva.
The two finalists will also earn qualification for next year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru.
The qualifiers will be played from January 11-28, next year and the OFC U17 Championship 2023 final is expected to be staged at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on January 28.
Meanwhile, the following players have been selected to march into camp for the Digicel national under-16 team.
The camp starts on November 3 at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba and will run until next January.
The team will be coached by Sunil Kumar.
