Fiji joins International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation

Fiji has joined the International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation that has its head-office in Beijing, China.

Fiji’s Ambassador to China, Manasa Tagicakibau attended the flag-raising ceremony with diplomats from around the world.

 

He said bamboo can help contribute to Fiji’s work in combating deforestation, climate change and unemployment.

 

INBAR now has 47 member states overall, almost all of them developing countries in the tropics and subtropics.
