FIJI is in the process of actually implementing the Hydrochlorofluorocarbon’s (HCFC) phase out.

University of the South Pacific’s lecturer, Dr Francis Mani highlighted this during the USP’s submission on the Kigali Amendment to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

He said HCFC’s have a small ozone depleting potential.

“We are in the process of phasing out HCFC’s and by 2030 we hope to phase out all HCFC’s.” he said.
