Fiji hosts regional coconut production training

Update: 12:19PM PARTICIPANTS from 14 regional countries are in Nadi for a training workshop on coconut production and seeds systems.
The meeting that began today is organised by the Pacific Community’s (SPC) Coconut Industry Development for the Pacific (CIDP) program and other stakeholders.
Program team leader Naheed Hussein said coconuts had a unique potential to support sustainable and healthy rural livelihoods throughout the Pacific.
He said the product could be a key driver for employment, income generation and economic growth in the region.
The workshop ends on Friday.
