FIJI becomes the first Pacific Island country to host the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health.

While welcoming delegates to the 5th Asia-Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health in Nadi, President Jioji Konrote said “Fiji, like the rest of our friends in the Pacific, are experiencing and witnessing the adverse impacts of climate change and the way and how we live our lives.”

Under the theme “Enhancing the role of Parliamentarians in addressing Climate Change and Health,” the APPFGH 5th meeting is chaired by speaker of the Parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

The meet includes leaders from 22 countries and is for parliamentarians to exchange ideas, build political will, strengthen capacity, and foster collaboration towards sustainable action for health.
