The Fiji Football Association Finance Committee will have a virtual meeting this Saturday, May 15, to make a decision on how the players, who rely on football for a living, can be assisted.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf told Fiji Times Online they had received the numbers from districts as to how many players needed to be assisted.

Yusuf said unlike last year, Fiji FA would be using its own funds to assist those players.

“Last year, OFC’s Solidarity Fund assisted us but this time around, we will be using our own funds to help the players,” he added.

He said they would try their best to roll out the assistance as quickly as possible because some players were in desperate need of assistance.
