FIJI Football Association president Rajesh Patel has reminded Ba Football Association players not to forget that they will be playing for the nation this weekend.

Ba has advanced into the quarter-finals of the Oceania League where it will play Hienghene Sport Football Club in New Caledonia on Saturday.

“I want you all to remember that you will be flying Fiji’s flag and not only playing under the Ba banner,” Patel told the players.

“You are the only team left in the league and we know you will do wonders for Fiji, your district, vanua and your family.

“Go for victory.”

Fiji FA and major sponsor Vodafone Fiji, provided a timely boost for the side with a cheque for $20,000 to help in the preparations of the team.

Ba FA president Rishi Kumar thanked the sponsors.

“This is a timely boost for our preparation and it is a big amount of money,” he said.

“I know it will help us in whatever small things we need to iron out during these few days of preparation.

“We are not going only to participate, but we are going to win and advance into the semi-finals.”

Ba takes on Heinghene FC at 6pm this Saturday, April 6, in New Caledonia.
