Fiji FA conveys its approval to FIFA to expand world cup teams

THE Fiji Football Association has given its approval to expand the 2022 FIFA World Cup to 48 teams.

The initial idea was to expand the number of teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by UnitedStates, Canada and Mexico.

However, this is now being fast-tracked for the 2022 event in Qartar.

Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel who attended the FIFA summit in Morocco recently said they had given their approval to FIFA to talk to the Qatar Football Association.
