Fiji Football Association has wished Vodafone Lautoka Football Club all the best in their participation in the 2018 Oceania Football Confederation Champions League.
Chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says Fiji’s hope now rests with Vodafone Lautoka FC after Ba failed to qualify.
“Our hope now rests on the Lautoka FC and we wish the Blues all the best in their participation, ” Yusuf said.
“Lautoka is in very tough pool but we are sure that they will make us proud with the style of play they have displayed in the Vodafone Premier League.”
“They had played Madang FC of Papua New Guinea on Sunday and they will face AS Venus FC of Tahiti tomorrow and face Auckland City FC in their last Group C match on Saturday.”
“We wish them all the best because our hope for Ba to march to the quarter-final has been dashed with the two loses. Nevertheless good experience for Ba FC as president Rishi Kumar and his officials have invested a lot of money in preparation of the team but that will pay them off in the local competition,” Yusuf said.
* The Kamal Swamy-coached side will face AS Venus FC of Tahiti tomorrow at 12pm (FT) in Auckland.
