“IT’S the first for Fiji.”

These were the words of Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf after reviewing the Uprising Beach Resort Ground in Pacific Harbour yesterday.

“It is quite of some standard. We have been impressed with the work done on it and we must congratulate the Uprising Beach Resort for the initiative,” Yusuf said.

He said the Fiji FA had now arranged some Vodafone Premier League matches at the venue.

“We might get some matches of teams like Nasinu and Suva at the venue this season. The ground is in perfect shape and we would like our teams to take advantage of it,” Yusuf added.

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said teams would find it easy to play constructive football on the pitch.

“The ball will go where you kick it to. Unlike other grounds in the country which are usually uneven, teams will find it easier to play one-touch and constructive soccer here,” said Pal.

Meanwhile, the first football match at the ground will see Navua play Lami in the Vodafone Senior League at 3pm this Sunday, May 26, 2019.
