TWO Fiji table tennis players in the Oceania under-15 team will be competing in the 2016 World Cadet Challenge tournament in Shanghai, China today.
The Fiji Table Tennis Association president Anthony Ho said he was confident Vicky Wu and Grace Yee would do well.
“They (Wu, Yee) have arrived in China for the competition after a week of training in Australia,” he said.
“They are a very young players and have a long way to go in the sport. Vicky is only 11 years old while Grace is 14.”
Ho said next month three players in sisters Sally and Grace Yee along with Ruta Iowane would represent Fiji in the World Junior Championship in South Africa.
“It would be a very good experience for them to play in such competition,” he added.
“They got selected from the Oceania Junior Championship which was held in April. They will take part in the open, singles and doubles event.
“Top 24 countries will be competing so our players would play top players from other countries. Sally went to the Olympic Games this year so it is going to be another big event for her.”
The event will be held from November 29-December 7 in Cape Town, South Africa.
