Fiji Drua secures historic NRC home final with brave comeback

THE Fiji Airways Drua side made a brave comeback and stole the win away from Canberra Vikings to secure a historic NRC home final next weekend.

Downed 23-7 early in the second spell, the Fijians gave the visitors a good taste of their own medicine countering their big forward with huge hits and waves of pick and drive attacks to secure a deserving win at Lautoka’s Churchill Park this afternoon.

Replacements prop Eroni Mawi, tireless number 8 Eremasi Radrodro, flyer Aporosa Tabulawaki scored a try each added by to a penalty try with the Drua scoring four to Vikings’ one try in the second spell.

Fiji’s first try was scored by Frank Lomani with Apisalome Waqatabu and Enele Malele adding the extras to win 35-28.

The final will be played again at Churchill Park.
