RAIN drizzles in northern Labasa is what people described as the blessings being showered on their Fiji Day event at Subrail Park in Labasa today.

The wet morning failed to dampen the Fijian spirit of about 3000 people up North who gathered to celebrate with friends and family, and Government officials.

The crowd danced to the local tunes of the Fiji Police band as it entertained the crowd.

Fijian President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, and some senior government officials have yet to arrive.

Foreign diplomats and invited guests have already started to arrive.
