FIJI is in the process of compiling its Voluntary National Review of the Sustainable Development Goals, which might be presented at the high-level political forum in New York in July, 2019.

This was highlighted by Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development permanent secretary Meleti Bainimarama at a symposium hosted by the Government of the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in Incheon, Korea.

Mr Bainimarama said the Voluntary National Review would show the great progress in the provision of services in many sectors, including education, health, and infrastructure.

He said the principle of leaving no one behind formed the core of the SDGs thus the achievement of the SDGs mandate must ensure the adoption of an inclusive growth approach.

The symposium is being attended by nearly 200 participants from 51 developing countries from around the world.

It started on October 24, 2018, and will end today.
