Fiji chases 18th title at Happy Valley

DEFENDING HSBC Hong Kong 7s champion Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team is the most consistent when it comes to winning at the Hong Kong Stadium.

Since the inception of the tournament in 1976, Fiji has won the title on 17 occasions.

The side won its first tournament title in 1977.

New Zealand is listed as the team with the second most wins in Hong Kong with 11 victories.

While the side won its first tournament in 1986, the NZ-based Cantabrians won the inaugural tournament in 1976.

Australia has won the title five times, their first tournament victory came in 1979.

England has also had its name written on the winner’s list, taking home the title on four occasions. England had its first title in 2002

Our Pacific neighbour Samoa has also won the Hong Kong title on three occasions, the first tournament victory came in 1993.

The only other team that has won the title was the Barbarian FC in 1991.
