Fiji Bitter Marist 7s: New champ to be crowned today

A NEW champion will be crowned at the 43rd edition of the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens tournament when Police Blue defeated Tabadamu Blue 15-0 in the third cup quarterfinals.

The two teams met in last year’s cup final where the Tabadamu defended the title.

Police Blue, Uluinakau, Wardens and the winner between Ratu Filise and Russia Red will proceed to the semifinal.

Earlier in the cup quarterfinals after the second elimination rounds, these were the results:

Uluinakau Babas edged the Hideaway Hurricanes 5-0,

Wadigi defeated Naqarani Seaside 12-7,

Wardens beat Veilomani 10-5,

Police White defeated Ravuka Sharks 10-5,

Police Blue beat Nakelo 19-10,

Tabadamu Blue beat Army Green 12-5,

Ratu Filise thrashed Tabadamu Red 31-0, and

Russia Red beat Nawaka 17-0.
