Festival of Praise: Soli to give back to people

THE main purpose for the 2018 Festival of Praise soli (offering) for the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma is to give back to the people.
This was the word from the church’s secretary for communication and overseas mission Reverend Wilfred Regunamada in an interview with this newspaper earlier today.
He said there was not a specific targeted amount they were looking to raise at the annual event.
“The main purpose of the soli is to give back to the people, their levy that they give in $15 a member some can’t give in their levy’s within the required term so they come here and fund raise it goes back to that levy before we use to collect a levy and collect another amount. So we have changed our purpose our approach towards our members,” Rev Regunamada said.
He said yesterday they had begun with their ministerial meeting, with the combined meeting to begin next week.
“Yesterday we had the ministerial session which we approved the 17 candidates for donations after six years of probation. We approved other candidates to go into theological college as well,” he said.
The 2018 Festival of Praise will close officially on Saturday.
