THE Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation recorded an income of $409,102 this year compared with $386,222 for last year.
FCEF chief executive officer Nesbitt Hazelman in his report on the FCEF 2017 annual report, said their expenses also increased by 13.8 per cent with major contributors being staff cost, VAT written off and council expenses.
Mr Hazelman said the FCEF goal was to expand membership services, improve their internal efficiency to better support members’ needs and to maintain a high level of excellence in policy advocacy and representation with government.
“The federation is in advance stages of launching its new research unit and we thank International Labour Organization Bangkok for assisting the federation in realising this new activity,” he said.
Mr Hazelman said they were in the fifth year of their industrial relations service which continued to gain momentum with uptakes from members.
“We continue to mount successful defences to members’ industrial relations cases and have developed a credible reputation among the membership.”
