FEA to pay out $1.325m bonus for 747 staff

SEVEN hundred and forty-seven staff members of Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) will benefit from a bonus payout of $1.325 million which is inclusive of the statutory employer’s Fiji National Provident Fund contribution.
Making the announcement yesterday, the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, said $876k would be paid to the salary earners which was understood to be part of their performance pay for 2015
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum thanked the FEA staff members for their contribution in making the company achieve its bonuses.
“I know FEA went through a demanding period in particular the Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston, I know there was a lot of pressure.
“People who had no electricity for months, but because of the limitations of resources or human resources, the organisation was able to put them in place. I think there was a lot of pressure and I have to thank all of you for coming up to speed for all of that.”
The FEA also welcomed its new chairperson in Daksesh Patel who replaced Nizam-ud-Dean at the event.
