FIJI Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) president Nezbitt Hazelman says there are many aspects that need to be considered before a national minimum wage could be established.

While speaking at the Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC) Special Delegates Conference in Nadi on Saturday, he said while the FCEF welcomed a national minimum wage, aspects such as running a business in a developing country and the informal sector needed to be considered.

“We do support a minimum wage and we are glad that Fiji has a national minimum wage for the first time ever,” he said.
