FIJI Broadcasting Corporation today announced the 2016 company performance bonus payout to about 164 staff members who were with the company in 2016.
Chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the timing for the announcement was a bit weird because the company had been in the spotlight for the past couple of days regarding its annual reports and losses incurred over the past few years.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the company did make book losses based on depreciation, had expected the losses and had budgeted for the losses.
However, he said things had turned out well for the company and in 2016, they had made a profit of $4million, allowing the company to pay out staff performance bonus.
Staff members will be getting the bonus pay effective this week.
