Fatal collision – Two people dead

Two people are believed to be the latest road fatalities after the car they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Wainisalato settlement near Naboro yesterday.

This has been confirmed by police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro.

An witness, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said a vehicle carrying seven passengers collided with a hybrid car that was allegedly speeding while trying to take over another vehicle.

She said they were about to have lunch when they heard a loud noise on the road.

She said her sons and neighbours had to use a pinch bar and coconut scraper to cut through the car windows with passengers still stuck inside.

She said the accident scene was so horrifying because parts of the car was covered in blood and when they reached the scene the driver of the Hybrid car was lying outside.

She said they had to use blankets to carry out the injured passengers and a boy who was motionless on the front seat.
