Farmer’s body recovered in Vatia River

Update: 2:12PM THE body of a 67-year-old farmer who was missing from Navala Village since last week has been found.
Police chief operations officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu said the farmer was found in the Vatia River in Tavua last night.
“Earlier in the day, officers from Ba had searched the Ba River with negative results,” ACP Qiolevu said.
“The victim’s body was later discovered by a 35-year-old fisherman of Tavua floating in the Vatia River in Tavua last night between 9pm to 10pm.
“His body is now being kept at the Tavua Hospital awaiting post mortem examination.”
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination for 50-year-old Joveci Roqiqi who died at the height of TC Keni will be carried out at the Lautoka hospital.
According to family members, Mr Roqiqi collapsed while trying to secure his home on Tuesday morning.
