Farmer facing murder charge advised to seek Legal Aid representation

A 27-YEAR-old farmer from Kadavu accused of murdering his partner has been remanded by the High Court in Suva.
Mosese Sigabalavu Koroi appeared before judge Justice Salesi Temo today charged with one count of murder.
Mr Koroi was allegedly intoxicated during the incident and assaulted his 23-year-old pregnant partner at Nasese in Suva on June 7, 2019.
The victim was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Koroi in court waived his right to legal representation, however, he was informed to seek Legal Aid assistance by Justice Temo since the charge against him was a serious one.
The case has been adjourned to July 17.
