Former Fijian Holdings Ltd Group CEO Nouzab Fareed who is facing allegations of indecent assault will now have his trial heard by the Suva Magistrates Court in March next year.
The matter was called today before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili in Suva and was listed for trial.
However, the State made an application to have the trial heard on another date because the court was informed that prosecution was not in a position to proceed for trial as the first complainant was presently in South Korea.
Defence lawyer Hemendra Nagin told the court that the trial date had been set in August this year, and that the State had had a lot of time.
He said he was surprised they did not make any travel arrangements for the complainant.
Mr Fareed is charged with three counts of indecent assault against two female employees of the FHL Group.
The first two counts are related to a complainant who claimed the assaults happened on two separate occasions between June and September in 2019.
The third count is in relation to a second complainant who alleged Mr Fareed indecently assaulted her in May 2019.
Mr Fareed had his bail extended.
The trial will be held from March 15-19, 2021.
