SETUATE Temo, the Lautoka man who refused to move his family from flood-prone Taiperia Settlement to the Natabua Primary School evacuation centre on Sunday has sought shelter at a church hall.
Mr Temo refused to be evacuated by police because of his 79-year-old father, Jope Temo’s bed-ridden condition.
He said the school had stairs to the toilets which his father would not be able to use.
“We managed to move our family to Saioni Methodist Church Hall thanks to the church steward,” he said.
“We will wait for TC Keni to come and when she goes, we will return to whatever is left of our home.”
