Four local non-governmental organisations and social enterprises today received a boost for their work to support communities that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic communities across Fiji.

The organisations –  Rise Beyond the Reef, Pacific Blue Foundation, Empower Pacific, and Quantum Space – Learning and Innovation Hub – received computers and IT equipment that would be used in their work.

UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji Resident Representative Levan Bouadze said the organisations were doing amazing work in remote, rural communities.

“These organisations are supporting vulnerable communities to cope with the COVID-19 crisis through upskilling, providing financial education and creating income generation opportunities. ANZ has been instrumental in providing them with business advice and support to ensure their programs can be sustainable,” Mr Bouadze said.

ANZ Fiji country head Saud Minam said ANZ was proud to support the grassroots organisations in the room and other UNDP programs.
