Experts and community reps to converge for inaugural national symposium

About 60 representatives from community-led projects, government and experts will converge for the inaugural national symposium to address national priorities, including climate change adaptation, reforestation, and sustainable livelihood efforts.
The symposium – themed ‘Share Your Story’ – will bring together 25 active projects in execution in Fiji, and aims to elevate community voices to promote locally-led sustainable growth.
Assistant Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and National Disaster Management Jovesa Vocea will be the chief guest.
Speakers will include Ministry of Fisheries director Neomai Ravitu, Titilia Davetanivale from the Ministry of Agriculture, Maselina Hawea from Town and Country Planning, Nunia Thomas of Mareqeti Viti, Deeptika Chand of Climate Division and James McGoon – iTaukei Affairs – Nadave Climate Change Innovation Hub Initiative.
Community representatives will also deliver their presentations.
The symposium will be held at the Holiday Inn in Suva.
