Update: 5:47PM MEMBERS of the public, particularly in Viti Levu, should expect intermittent power supply this long Easter weekend.

This as the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) has planned to undertake the replacement of the fourth main inlet valve at the Wailoa Power Station and to carry out major maintenance works to the network power lines infrastructure during this Easter weekend.

“That means that the Wailoa Power Station will not be generating any electricity from Thursday night up to probably late Monday night or early Tuesday morning,” FEA chief executive Hasmukh Patel said.

Mr Patel said all FEA customers in Viti Levu would be supplied electricity through all the FEA’s diesel power stations on the mainland with some generation coming from their Nadarivatu Power Station.

He said FEA would be able to meet all the power requirements in Viti Levu during this period, barring any operational faults in any of their generators.

“In the event one of our diesel power stations have some operational problems, then customers could experience intermittency in the power supply, but we will try to minimise this,” Mr Patel said.
