MAI TV general manager Marc Santos has decided to return to Tonga when his contract term expires at the end of this month.
In a statement this week, the company’s executive chairman Justin Smith said Mr Santos had successfully navigated the company through one of its most challenging periods.
“Marc has not only successfully managed the acquisition and distribution of the FIFA World Cup to Fiji but also restructured Mai TV’s content and sales teams to suit a far more competitive environment,” Mr Smith said.
Mr Santos has been with the company since June 2013 and opted to focus on family commitments given the birth of his first child earlier this month.
Mr Smith would take on the leadership role at Mai TV.
having being a director and shareholder since its inception in 2008.
He replaces the company’s founder Richard Broadbridge, who left the company this year to focus on a media venture in Papua New Guinea.
