An exclusive agreement has been signed by Fiji Television Limited and the RFMF to broadcast the 2020 Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge on its free-to-air channel Fiji One.
The Sukuna Bowl – an annual rugby union fixture that usually takes place in Suva – is contested between the Fiji Police Forces and the Fiji Military Forces.
In a market announcement released via the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX), Fiji TV Board chairman Deepak Rathod confirmed the partnership and said they hoped to continue and grow it even further.
“The Sukuna Bowl Challenge is a great platform for all our local players to showcase their capabilities and we would like all our viewers to be part of the whole event,” Mr Rathod said.
Army had defeated Police 20-17 last year to claim the 2019 Ratu Sukuna Bowl title at ANZ Stadium.
Out of the nine different sporting games played during the 2019 Sukuna Bowl competition, the Army had won the cricket match, the wives category won both the volleyball and netball finals, rugby development, oldies four quarters match, and the rugby main match.
The main rugby match will be televised live on Friday, December 11, 2020 on Fiji One and livestreamed on Fiji TV’s Streaming Channel worldwide.
