The excitement level is high among the local tourism operators as Fiji makes a slow but steady recovery from COVID-19.
This according to Tanoa Group of Hotels Fiji area general manager Narend Kumar.
“With the ‘Love Our Locals’ initiative, we are expecting a lot of locals at our six hotels which is spread across Viti Levu,” he said.
Mr Kumar said their staff were fully vaccinated and they are ready to bring them back to the Tanoa Group of Hotels operations.
“The excitement level is high about the opening of hotels by 70 per cent capacity to fully vaccinated people as early as next month.”
He said the government made a wise decision to open at 70 per cent capacity initially in order to “test the initiative with limited numbers before making any other changes.”
Mr Prasad added the Tanoa Groups of Hotel Fiji were practicing the highest level of hygiene and sanitation and also working closely with Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport.
Recently Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said that from October 4, all workplaces, tertiary institutions, houses of worship, hotels, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, gyms, pools, tattoo parlours would be allowed to open at 70 pet cent capacity to fully vaccinated people.
