EVEREADY Taxis is the first company in Fiji to install and accept ATM cards for payment of taxi fares.

This after Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum launched the ANZ POS with Eveready Taxis at the ANZ House in Suva today.

The A-G said the Government had been focused on increasing the number of electronic transactions in the country because it provided not only convenience to everyday consumers but also helped the financial system.

“Whatever the fare you would want to pay through your card, you can pay on the machine, even if the fare is $3 as there is no minimum,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

More taxi companies are urged to install this service in their taxis because it will reduce theft.
