EVERY Fijian has an equal responsibility in ensuring better health for all, says Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete.
Speaking during his visit to the Raviravi Nursing Station and Beqa Health Center on Thursday, Dr Waqainabete said this could be achieved only through a collaborative effort.
He said the maritime areas were difficult places where health service delivery needed equal attention and all Fijians should receive equal health services irrespective of their location.
Dr Waqainabete said this was something that the Ministry had been advocating and working towards.
“I would like to ensure that every individual in this nation has equitable and accessible health services where no one is left behind therefore interacting with staff and the people provides that platform to work towards accomplishing the desired goal,” he said.
Dr Waqainabete added the Health Ministry was working tirelessly to avail majority of the services to the people in these areas as part of the Universal Health Coverage.
Meanwhile, the aim of the visit was to meet staff and discuss the challenges they faced.
