SCHOOL heads have been reminded of their responsibility to ensure that reporting is done in a timely manner.

This was highlighted by the Manager Grants for the Ministry of Education Shayal Sharma while presenting at the Fiji Head Teachers Association annual conference that continues today at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

She said each school’s annual general meeting minutes and annual audited financial statements were due on March 31 for each year.

“What we have come across is that some of the schools are not meeting the deadlines in terms of submitting their annual financial statements or the AGM minutes,” Ms Sharma said.

She said any non-compliance on the submission of the AGM minutes and audited statements would result in the improper disbursement of grants for Term 2.

“If you don’t submit these documentations, your grants for Term 2 will be withheld and will only be disbursed once these documents have been submitted.”
