Eshley Narayan recently joined the Fiji New Zealand Business Council as a committee member and received the Employee of the Year Award from her employer – DHL Global Forwarding (Fiji) Pte Ltd.

Ms Narayan is the business development executive at DHL Global Forwarding (Fiji) Pte Ltd.

“I’ve been in this industry for seven years and with DHL Global Forwarding for four years on-going.

“I am the youngest employee in DHL Global Forwarding and the youngest female in the industry who is head of commercial team,” shared Ms Narayan.

She started her journey with DHL as a sales and customer service support and worked her way up to being Business development executive.

“Just last year I’ve been appointed as the Head of Commercial Fiji.”

As a young woman in business Ms Narayan said she was inspired to join the NZFBC committee board knowing they organise charity events and contribute to those who need the assistance.

“I have a charity platform where whatever we collect from the generous is given back to the needy.”

Ms Narayan said NZFBC was a networking platform providing them with the opportunity to meet, greet and make great connections throughout the industry.

“Joining this committee will broaden my exposure. “More industry experts will know my existence and my role in DHL Global Forwarding Fiji.”

Ms Narayan travelled to Bangkok, Thailand for the DHL Global Forwarding Employee of the Year Awards which was held from March 10 to 16.

“I work for a brand which speaks for itself. We are located in 220 territories around the world.

“From air freight, sea freight to customs clearance and delivery of the goods to your door step. We do it all – A one stop shop.

“Every year DHL recognizes its staff by awarding employee of the year award. Selected DHL employees from Asia pacific stations are invited for this event and we all gather together.

“It was an absolute honour to represent my country – Fiji in Bangkok. Each day was full of fun, laughter, bonding with colleagues from all around the world and exchanging diversity.”

She said it was truly an emotional moment for her.

“I’ve dedicated this award to my parents and my valued customers – Without their support and continuous motivation I wouldn’t have been the person I am today.

“I am blessed to have so many great things in my life – God, family and friends. Blessed is them who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate.

“Good things take time, I’ve always believed in that. It took me three years to achieve this. After receiving this award – my goal is to work even harder so that I can win this again and again and again.

“I believe this journey has a long way to go and I am looking forward to the challenges and creating milestones.”
