Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa (FT 31/7) says Fiji will be overwhelmed by the effects of population ageing if it does not adapt for changes ahead.
She said such effects were shortage of workers, strained pension systems and overburdened healthcare systems.
Are we really an aging population?
I just saw the amount of children born recently and my jaw dropped.
Shortage of workers? What does that mean, we have more than 10,000 people (many graduates) that have been registered as unemployed.
Can the good minister please elaborate on the subject, please.
