ENERGY Fiji Limited (EFL) will be carrying out upgrading works on the 11,000 Volts switch board at the Savusavu Power Station this Sunday, November 25, 2018.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by Acting Chief Executive Officer, Bobby Naimawi advising EFL customers that the upgrade works need to be executed to enable SCADA functionality of the high voltage switch board and to improve reliability and security of power supply to the Savusavu area.

The Savusavu Power station provides electricity supply for the whole of Savusavu area.

Mr Naimawi said in order to carry out the upgrade works, EFL Engineers will de-energize the 11,000 volts switch board from 8am to 6pm on the said date.

“During this period, there will be no power supply to our customers in Savusavu.

“Upgrade works are planned to be carried out on a Sunday due to the low electricity demand on this day and to minimize business disruption to our commercial customers in Savusavu,” Mr Naimawi said.

Members of the public are advised to treat every power line as live and stay clear of all power lines, as circumstances may cause any power line to be electrified at any time.
