EFL tariff review proposal: FCCC to hold more consultations
2 June, 2019, 5:20 pm
THE Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) CEO Joel Abraham says they have put in a considerable amount of resources in terms of manpower to undertake consultation towards the proposed Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) electricity tariff rate increase by 17.27 per cent.
Mr Abraham said that Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni have the Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) grid and those are consumers who would be directly affected.
“Apart from this, when we will go out to areas in Nadi and Sigatoka, we will have a team that will also go out into rural areas as well,” he said.
“So while we will hold public consultations at central venues allowing people to come in, our officers have started receiving requests from people if we can go out into these communities. So we are dispatching teams to them.”
FCCC will host three more consultations in three venues between the Suva to Nausori corridor tomorrow.
