ENERGY Fiji Ltd has called for patience, cooperation and understanding of its customers as it continues to safely inspect, repair and energise the EFL power system.

EFL chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said their teams continued to work through the day yesterday to patrol and inspect the line, repair and or clear the lines where required and safely energised the same.

Mr Patel said Tropical Cyclone Tino brought with it winds and rain across the Fiji group that helped a bit with the inflows into the Monasavu, Nadarivatu, Somosomo, and Wainiqeu Hydro Dams.

According to Mr Patel, strong winds and flying debris caused damage to the electricity infrastructure, especially on the overhead lines (conductors), cross arms and other associated accessories on Vanua Levu (Labasa and Savusavu), and Taveuni.
