WHAT we teach our children today, is what they will become tomorrow as leaders of our nation.

This was mentioned by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa after the closing of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Week Programme at Gospel Primary School in Suva today.

“Education goes a long way, and investing in education is one of the most important ways with which we can improve our world,” she said.

“Education is a powerful weapon, it can and does reduce poverty, increase income, boost economic growth, and increase the chances for one to have a healthy life.”

Ms Vuniwaqa said the best investment to ensure the future success of a child, was to invest in the early years of their lives through education.

She added it was vital to understand the need to invest in young children as well as maximizing their future well-being.
