THIS is it!

It’s showtime!

There can be no doubts about the impact the Rugby World Cup 2019 is having on the minds of Fijians around the world.

This afternoon we take on the might of the Australian Wallabies at the Sapporo Dome in Japan.

Today we embrace how well we have prepared over the past three or so years.

When all things are said and done, today is another opportunity to shrug off shackles that have long tainted our game.

National coach John McKee has named a powerful line-up to take on a star-studded Wallabies side.

Preparation time is over!

Today is about action.

It’s when the months of preparation will serve as the base for our assault on the RWC 2019.

When the Flying Fijians run onto the Sapporo Dome this afternoon, they will be carrying on their shoulders the hopes and aspirations of an expectant nation.

By now they should be hitting their peak.

As they count down the hours to kick-off time, there will no doubt be butterflies in their stomachs.

Individual players will go through personal pre-game routines to psyche themselves.

The ultimate goal is finding their rhythm early, settling down fast, embracing the magical atmosphere that goes hand in hand with such an event, and staying composed under pressure.

The first hit, the first tackle and the first touch of the ball will no doubt be savoured to the brim.

This is the pinnacle of world rugby.

It’s where only the best converge to participate in an event that will be keenly followed by every rugby-loving person.

Back home, it is an opportunity for the nation to unite in support of our Flying Fijians.

From the coast, to the highest mountains, Fijian fans will no doubt be switched on this afternoon, lapping up the spectacle at the Dome.

Every imaginary demarcation line will be shrugged aside this afternoon.

There can be no doubts about the strength of this sport to unite us all.

Such moments are meant to be lapped up.

They show off our love for the sport, our sense of patriotism and enthusiasm for our team.

Today, skipper Dominiko Waqaniburotu will lead arguably one of our most experienced sides out against the Wallabies.

The Wallabies will head in as hot favourites this afternoon though.

On paper, they have an edge and the stars and experience to back that.

What will matter though is what happens on the field.

For whatever it is worth, we have nothing to lose, but a lot to gain.

McKee wants a very strong effort.

The fans want some magic, and the world is anticipating an exciting clash, one to remember.

We say go Fiji, go.
