Eastern Zone Rugby: RKS thrashes QVS in first round

THE Ratu Kadavulevu School under 18 rugby team kicked off their Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby competition on a high note thrashing Queen Victoria School 45-11 in the first round.

The Deans defending champion scored six tries and the hosts scored one try in the last play of the match.

RKS led QVS in the first half 14-6 with their hooker Ratu Samuela Draunidalo scoring the first try converted by Sanaila Daliga and lock forward Aporosa Taqiri scored their second try with a successful conversion.

In the second half, RKS extended their lead with tries scored by open wing Alekesio Mataivalu, flyhalf Sanaila Daliga, blindside flanker Mosese Qionimacawa and winger Jeremaia Driu.

In other games, the Lelean Memorial School under 18 defeated St John College 18-13. In the under 19 RKS edged QVS 7-0, SJC beat LMS 24-3.

In the under 17 Dilkusha High School beat Tailevu North College 7-5 and RKS thumped Sila Central 60-0.

In the under 15 RKS defeated LMS 17-0, QVS beat Sila 29-0 and in the under 14 RKS beat QVS 26-0.
