ST VINCENT de Paul Parish priest Father Vincent Mane said it was a significant day for Catholics today because they remember Christ’s suffering as a reminder of the love He had for us.

Mr Mane led the service at a packed Nausori parish today as Catholic devotees gathered to observe this special day, and also witness a re-enactment of the 14 stations of the cross.

He says this is a devotional moment for Catholics where they commemorate the life of Christ.

“Every station marks the significant moment of Christ before He was crucified at Calvary followed by scriptures,” Mr Mane said.

“On this day, we should share the love of Christ to other people and those that are suffering.”

The stations of the Cross are marked on Good Friday, also known as Way of the Cross showing the events on the day of Christ’s crucifixion on Mt Calvary.

Mr Mane said the parish catered for Catholics from all districts within the province of Tailevu.
