IT IS all about a moment of reflection and sharing the love this Easter.

Fiji’s Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama preached more about love in his Easter message today, with the word ‘love’ appearing six times in three of the nine clause-message, placing significant emphasis on God’s extraordinary sacrifice of His only son Jesus Christ, to forgive the sins of humanity.

As he wished the people a happy, safe and blessed Easter, Mr Bainimarama echoed sentiments of the faithful of the importance of this event on Fiji’s national calendar and the central conviction of the Christian faith.

“For Fijians, the life and death of Jesus carry lessons that carry profound meaning for each of us,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“Jesus’s life was a life dedicated to the service of all people, from all walks of life.

“His love touched the hearts of women, men, children, youths and elders from all different faiths, different socio-economic backgrounds, and different cultures.

“His death was more than an extraordinary sacrifice, it was an infinite display of His love and compassion – a love so powerful that we can feel its strength in our lives to this very day.

“On this both solemn and joyous occasion, I ask every Fijian to take a moment to reflect on how we can each strive to welcome each other and to love each other in the same manner that Jesus so loved the world.”

Christians will observe the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.
