Earthquake poses no threat to Fiji

Update: 9:14PM A STRONG size earthquake with shallow depth source location occurred in the Japan region this afternoon.
However, it does not pose any immediate threat to the Fiji region, says the Mineral Resources Department�s Seismology Unit.
The 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres at 5:07pm.
It occurred 8 kilometres south of Kurayoshi, 543km west-southwest of Tokyo in Japan, 649km southeast from Seoul in Korea and 7563km northwest from Suva.
