Duo released on $1000 bail bond

Former chief executive officer of Post Fiji Ltd Wing Ham Wong and its chain supply manager Abdul Ali were released on a $1000 bail bond each by the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Mr Wong was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with one count of general dishonesty causing a loss and one count of aiding and abetting misleading documents.
It is alleged that Mr Wong between July 1 and October 31, 2016 caused a risk of loss to the then Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority and provided an underrated value for an LG LED television purchased for his own use, knowing that a loss will occur to the then Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.
It is also alleged that the accused between July 1 and October 31, 2016 aided and abetted Mr Ali, by providing a tax invoice to Amit Kumar Prasad of Speedy Customs Agency knowing that the document was false and that the said document was produced in compliance or purported compliance with the Customs Act.
Mr Ali was charged by FICAC for submitting misleading documents to Amit Kumar Prasad of Speedy Customs Agency knowing that the document was false.
Both accused persons were warned not to interfere with prosecution witnesses and to surrender all travelling documents by Monday.
The case has been adjourned to March 14.
