DESPITE traveling far from Sawani in Bua to be part of the Cakaudrove, Bua, Macuata Handicraft Show, Monika Tunabuna and Katarina Baleidreka said they were proud to be part of the 240 women that converged in Savusavu today to be part of the event.

Sawani native Ms Tunabuna said she brought with her three mats to showcase at the show.

The 58-year-old said she expected to earn $600 from the sale of her mats.

Her counterpart,  Kubulau native, Ms Baleidreka said the event was a good one because it helped women market their products.

Ms Baleidreka said it was better if women in their various communities could have their own handicraft shows in their communities as a platform for them to make much needed income for them and their families.

Both women were part of the CBM Handicraft Show held today at Narayan Park in Nakama Savusavu.
